Lindroos Architects, together with Sitowise designed entrances to new pedestrian and bicycle connection below Helsinki Central Railway Station. Canopy at the east entrance creates a new smooth transition from built city to historical Kaisaniemi Park. West entrance adapts itself to new urban Kansalaistori square. The site is located on listed built cultural environment (RKY).

A wooden, protected former Elanto storage is transformed into a single family house. Carefully studied interior has a contemporary twist, yet still keeping character of the 1920’s building. Existing facades are restored to their original state. The site is situated within listed built cultural environment (RKY) in Käpylä, Helsinki.

KÄMP GARDEN
Garden – Center for Finnish Fashion is focused on showcasing central names on the Finnish fashion. Projects spatial and functional requirements are tarnsformed into a simple grid layout allowing flexible program split and expansion of stores. The grid forms an infrastructural backbone, where one square forms one rental unit.

Lindroos Architects is an architectural practice based in Helsinki Finland and Basel Switzerland. A wide expertise covers different scales from furniture design to large public buildings and urban developments. Lindroos Architects design approach combines tradition with contemporary by using latest analog and digital technology. Lindroos Architects seeks a specific answer for each project on a global context.
Osma studied architecture in Helsinki University of Technology. He worked for offices in Helsinki and collaborated with Swiss practice Herzog & de Meuron in Basel and Tokyo 2009-2016. During his collaboration with H&dM Osma worked on international projects such as Skolkovo university in Moscow and Miu Miu Flagship Store in Aoyama, Tokyo. Besides his own design work, he teaches architecture as a lecturer at the Aalto University in Helsinki.

Markus has over 40 years experience from wide range of projects in Finland. Over the years Markus designed and built more than twenty educational buildings and renovated multiple heritage buildings. He has been member of diverse research and development workgroups for sustainability within building industry and authorities.

Annukka’s expertise is city planning, urban design and strategy consulting. Due to her a long experience as Deputy Director of City of Helsinki Town Planning Division, and her experience as a jury member for many architectural and urban competitions, she provides consulting as specialist at excellence for any project related to cities and urbanism.

Lindroos Architects was originally founded as Arkkitehtitoimisto E&E Lindroos by Elma and Erik Lindroos in Helsinki 1937. Elma and Erik Lindroos won several important architectural competitions during their time and built more than hundred twenty buildings focusing on residential, commercial and public projects. Among the projects, for example, Helsinki main Post office(1938), Arabia Factory (Helsinki 1944) are well known and still admired by locals and international visitors.
Markus Lindroos joined office in 1973 and developed working field further into educational facilities as well as renovation and conservation of historical buildings. During 1981-2017 office name was Arkkitehtitoimisto Markus Lindroos Ky.
Osma Lindroos took over family-based practice as a director 2017 and renamed the office Lindroos Architects. As he lives partially in Switzerland, he opened a branch office in Basel.
